  • The Capital Improvement Plan (2011-2020) of 300 Million does not include the Performing Arts Center add another 75 Million!
  •  Hey! I paid $1500 dollars more in property tax than a similar house in Calgary not including the taxes that are hidden in the utilities ($2,200 in Calgary - $3,700 in Lethbridge) That $1,500/yr. In 10 yrs that $15,000 dollars!! This is real money!!
Editor's note: CBG is not affilated with the Accountability Projects or the Concerned Citizens Bill of Rights

  • By-election - First of all it is imperative that you get out and vote. There are currently eight seats on council so this seat could be the deciding vote.  So please get out and vote. Check out our By-election Candidates to get candidate web sites and our initial assessment. Other Lethbridge web sites include Lethbridge Accountability and Elect Lethbridge.
  • Election Results - We believe that the election results were a vote for change - we have yet to see if the new council got the message. Check Election Results to see who is in and who is out. It also includes our pre-election recomendations along with the results.
  • "Separating Fact from Opinion" - This section responds to Mr. Dodics column of December 17th, 2010. We have provided our spin to the same set of facts that Mr. Dodic used in his column and provide you direct access to the articles so you can develop your own opinion. (Interesting read!)

  • Watch List:
    1. Operational Budget
    2.. Transparency in Communications
    3. Fiscal Transparency

  • Bob Babki - The city has lost the only alderman who had the tenacity, intellect and courage to analyse and provide informed opinions on taxation, city investments and spending plans. NOBODY knew more about what was happening in the city than Bob. Not only is this a personal loss but it is a huge loss to the city. Inspite of the health risks, Bob felt that he had to run for alderman to change the direction of the city - this is truely hero stuff!
If you would like to be informed of new developments please send us an Email at contact AddMetoEMail - we will send you notices of civic issues that affect you. (Emails are sent out infrequently and addresses are not provided to outside agencies)

WHO ARE WE?:  We are a group of concerned Lethbridge citizens who share the view that our current government is not keeping us informed or it is intentionally avoiding revealing many of the details regarding taxes and spending at the Municipal level.

WHAT ARE WE DOING?:  We are working for TACT (Transparency, Accountability, Clarity and Trust) within the Local and Provincial Governments. Our goal is to investigate and analyze how our government works, and to create a better informed voting citizenry. We look for your support in creating positive changes in governance.

WHY?:  It is imperative that voters are aware of the the issues and activities of their government. This site focuses on the issues and concerns of the municipal and provincial government and the impact of these activities on the taxpayers and citizens of this city. You may not agree, but you should be aware. We need your support to create a voice in local affairs that cannot be ignored. We are convinced, and our research confirms, that the current civic government is embarked on a path which is unsustainable and jeopardizes future growth.

WHEN:  Our highest priority at this time is to promote Transparency, Accountability, Clarity and Trust as the four pillars that represent our core issues that must be addressed and remedied..
